Club Nights
Blue Max hosts socials and club nights at a variety of LGBTQ+ friendly bars in the St. Louis community.

The nights are gear, leather, or related themed and generally include our members selling shots or drinks, raffles, and prize giveaways.

Fetish Nights
Blue Max also hosts a quarterly Fetish Night. Currently, Blue Max is rotating through demos of electro play, hot wax, rope bondage,, and flogging.

Other Events
In addition to club and fetish nights, we arrange events during local contests, as well as periodically host a club run. At a “run”, we invite other leather clubs to join us in sharing our interest in leather, fetish, and kink culture. We have quarterly volunteering opportunities partnering with local charities helping LGBT+ individuals and/or those living with HIV/AIDS. Other events we commonly hold are social meetups, and holiday dinners.

History of Organization

Blue Max Cycle Club’s journey began in 1975, founded by visionaries led by Jerry Wickham and later restructured under the guidance of Bob Garrett. The club’s first gathering spot was the Red Bull in East St. Louis, Illinois. As the years progressed, the club’s home shifted to the Mine Shaft in 1978, Clementines in 1980, and the Outpost in 1993, which later became known as the St. Louis Eagle. After a brief closure, the Eagle soared again as the Eagle in Exile in mid-2000. JJ’s Clubhouse served as the club’s hub until its closure in 2021, and since then, Blue Max has embraced a variety of GLBTQ+ bars across St. Louis.

In its formative years, Blue Max was part of a collective spirit, joining forces with clubs like Gateway M.C., Spirits of St. Louis, and Bacchus for joint runs. By 1982, the club embarked on hosting its own signature events. A landmark moment in 1992 saw Blue Max welcome women members, a pioneering step for St. Louis leather clubs.

At its core, Blue Max has been a steadfast champion for charitable endeavors, dedicated to fostering strong bonds within the Leather and LGBT communities and providing a wealth of charitable and educational support.

As a valued member of the Mid-America Conference of Clubs, Blue Max stands committed to the growth and unity of leather clubs throughout the heartland of America.
